Year 11 Unit 2 "Improving Health & Fitness for entry to the Uniformed Public Services

Year 11 Public Services

First: Update your Food & Lifestyle Diary for the last week and your PFA scores (if you carried out the assessment on 04 Nov or 02 Dec 11).

Now: Your task today will be to plan a health improvement programme (P8) that would last for a minimum of 6 weeks. The intended audience would be a small group of soldier recuits whose fitness levels fall below the established minimums to pass the Army's Personal Fitness Assessment. This will enable you to achieve P8 (plan a personal health improvement programme)

You should prepare the plan as a booklet, a leaflet or even a power point that could be given or shown to the soldiers who would be following the programme. You should set aims/objectives, activities and targets for each week, along with diet and lifestyle advice.

*** THERE IS A TEMPLATE FOR YOU TO USE IN THE PUBLIC SERVICES FOLDER ON THE G DRIVE. IT IS TITLED " A PERSONAL HEALTH IMPROVEMENT TASK". Make a copy to your user area and complete the activities***
Refer to your own food and lifestyle diaries and fitness records for some ideas. Think about an attractive and easy to understand method of presenting this work.

Remember that the pogramme should follow the SPORT format, ie it should be Specific, Progressive, avoid Overload, Relevant and for specific periods of Time.
