Visit Aboad HMS Ocean

On Monday 16th July the Yr 10 Level 2 Public Services class visited HMS Ocean, moored at Greenwich for the 2012 Olympics. The class had the chance to see most parts of the ship, including the hangers, flight deck, accommodation and the bridge. HMS Ocean is a helicopter carrier and is currently the largest ship  in the Royal Navy. Thanks go to Ms Mythen and Mr Atmore for organising and arranging the visit.

Saxon Shore Way Expedition

The two day expedition along the Saxon Shore Way between Faversham and Herne Bay took place on 3rd and 4th July, in what turned out to be the only dry and sunny two days of the week! After a tiring first day the group camped at Seasalter and spent the evening in Whitstable, before setting off for Herne Bay on the second day. An enjoyable time was had by all, as the photos below show. Students will be producing their own expedition blogs to record their achievements and understanding of this area of the North East Kent coastline.

A big well done to all who took part and to Mr Toomey and Ms Whipp for enabling the expedition to take place.
