Year 13 Level 3 Public Services Assessment: Tasks 2 and 3

You will need to refer to this post and the post on 03 Oct 11, which has the details of Task 2 and websites to use.

LO: To produce a route card for a planned route (P3) and to identify environmental issues (P4)

Today's lesson follows directly from yesterday's lesson on route cards and draws upon your former knowledge and understanding of risk assessment and your research on environmental issues.

TASK: Look carefully at Task 2 and especially at the Range to be covered:

1. In groups of 3 or 4 you have the task of planning the route for the NAVEX to Bromley on Thursday 13 Oct 11. To achieve this you will need to:
  • Select a route on the map from CWC (SP)  to Bromley North station (FP), using footpaths and open areas and avoiding main roads. This route will need to be highlighted on a copy of the map, including SP, FP and CPs.
  • Produce a detailed route card for the route, with time and distance calculations.
  • Produce a detailed Risk Assessment (RA) for the NAVEX.
  • Prepare a FULL briefing checklist for the NAVEX and be prepared as a group to brief the class.
2. By the end of the session you will ALL require your own copies of route cards, risk assessment and a map with the route clearly shown.

Copies of the route card and risk assessment and briefing format and consent letter are on the G Drive, or paper copies will be provided. This will provide the coverage for the Range.

3. Produce a typed report covering the 4 topics included in P4. Print and submit for assessment.

Timings: You have Periods 1 and 2 today for Task 1. Deadline for completion of Task 3 is 21 Oct 11.

Good Luck!
